Why wasn’t the Google Tag Manager container published?
If you see the following in Tag Assistant, it means that no active container version has been published.
Here is what you will see if you click on the container in Tag Assistant:
To publish GTM, follow these steps:
- Click on the Submit button at the top right hand side of the screen. The Submit Changes screen will appear, with options to publish the container and save a version of your container.
- Review the Workspace Changes section to see if everything looks as expected.
- Enter a Version Name and Version Description.
- If you have Tag Manager configured to use multiple environments, select which environment you’d like to publish to in the Publish to Environment
- Click Publish.
If you do not find the Submit button in the interface as shown in the following image, you do not have permission to publish.
Ask the admin to extend your access.
