Finally, it’s here. One of the features we’ve been waiting for the most. ‘Replace Text in Names’ will save you a lot of time and hassle, especially for you more advanced advertisers with multiple campaigns and ad sets.

Facebook advertisers who manage multiple campaigns know that they can duplicate their campaigns, ad sets or ads. Duplicating is definitely a time saver, but still, requires to manually change each of the duplications names. Of course, there’s also the option to export and import from a CSV file, but it’s not a simple thing to do, and can also be a time consumer. If there’s anything I don’t like when I’m managing my campaigns, is to waste time on manual work!

Finally, there’s a solution for that. Facebook launched a new feature called ‘Replace Text in Names’.

The new feature allows you to choose a certain part of the names and replace it. For example, when you duplicate your ad sets, and you want to change your targeting from lookalikes to interests. You would certainly want to indicate it in your ad sets or ads names so you can track their performance.

So how do you actually use ‘Replace Text in Names’?

Simply choose the campaigns, ad sets, or ads you want to edit, and then click ‘Replace Text in Names’.

Once you click on it, a new window will pop up, where you will be asked what to replace and what to replace it with.

As you can see in our example, with chose to replace ‘Lookalikes’ with ‘Interests’. When you’re done, click ‘Rename”, and your ad sets will be updated.

All you need to do now is upload, as you do with any change on the Power Editor.

Bottom Line: Use this new feature when you’re duplicating multiple campaigns, ad sets or ads. It will save you time and will prevent you from making mistakes.
